Did you know that from 2008-2010, the total waste
disposal in Canada decreased from 25,907,467 tonnes to 24,883,546 tonnes? Did you know that during that same time
frame, Newfoundland and Labrador’s waste disposal increased from 380,176
tonnes to 394,235 tonnes?
Well, Beachy Cove Elementary would like to do its part to help reduce the amount of waste generated at our school! Please help us as we initiate Litterless Lunch Day on the last Friday of every month. This will be marked on our monthly calendars. Please check out our links to the right for some tips and cost saving recipes for healthy litterless lunches! If your child orders from the cafeteria on that day, maybe you can send along reusable cutlery and napkins. Thank you for your anticipated support as we embark on another project aimed at increasing our environmental awareness here at BCE! We all have a role to play. Every little bit you do makes a BIG difference! |
